Reflexology is a treatment that uses a specific type of massage and is normally received through the feet. There is a ‘map’ – a reflexology map – of the body on the soles and upper aspects of the feet with ‘reflex areas’ that corresponds to the specific parts of the body. These reflex areas are massaged and the aim of the treatment is to correct imbalances in any given area and to encourage healthy functioning of the body.
It is suitable and safe for pregnant women, the elderly, frail, babies and children.

Benefits of Reflexology

Reflexology can be used as a treatment for ill health and many people feel they have benefitted from regular reflexology treatments that reduce or improve their symptoms. Reflexology can also be used to maintain good health, as well as alerting the client to any changes. In addition, reflexology is an excellent means of relaxation. Many of us lead busy, hectic lives that can lead to stress and tension that in turn can lead to ill health.

In Clinical Reflexology I take a full consultation at the first appointment and therapeutic essential oils may be added to the massage medium to further enhance the effectiveness of the treatment.

Clinical Reflexology seeks to work alongside conventional medicine in supporting clients with health issues, as well as promoting and maintaining good health. It can be used to address a wide range of health issues, for example, arthritis, eczema, IBS, cancer and the side effects of treatments. Depression, stress, sleep issues, physical tension and their attendant side effects may also be treated with reflexology.
